Day 1 – Snowmobiling in Kuhmo
Your journey begins in the centre of Kuhmo. If you want to start with a shorter route, try the Honkinen Loop. If you are looking for a longer adventure, head for the 150 km Eastern Loop, where you can also visit the Romuvaara freeride area. Alternatively, you can ride north toward Lentiira as a day trip or stay overnight.

Day 2 – The Trails of Suomussalmi
Suomussalmi has around 550 km of snowmobile routes, of which 350–450 km are groomed depending on conditions. There is no snowmobile rental in the town centre, but if you are travelling with your own snowmobile, you can ride the 230 km Hossa Loop. If you need a rental snowmobile, skip directly to Hossa (see Day 4).

Day 3 – Wilderness of Martinselkonen
Continue toward the Martinselkonen–Juntusranta–Hossa route. Along the way, stop to enjoy absolute silence or have a campfire lunch. As you approach Hossa, the landscape becomes more rugged, with trails lining ridges and crystal-clear lakes.

Day 4 – Snowmobiling in Hossa
In Hossa, ridges, clear lakes and well-maintained routes make riding a true pleasure. A great starting point is Kieppituvat, where you can stay overnight and rent snowmobiles from the same place. Hossa also has a cold fuel station – easy refuelling for sledders!
