Begin your adventure in Kuhmo and dive straight into the world of the Northern Lights by joining the aurora photography workshop by Koe Kainuu Adventures. The workshop also includes practical tips for capturing Northern Lights photography.

Day 2 – Wolf Photography and Winter Landscapes

In the morning, head out for an unforgettable day at Wildlife Safaris Finland’s wolf photography hide. Seeing a wolf in the wild is a powerful experience, and from the hide you may also capture wolverines as well as a variety of winter bird species. In early spring, you may even witness the mating displays of capercaillie or black grouse!
Upon returning to Kuhmo in the evening, you can enjoy a relaxing photography trip to Pajakkakoski, where flowing water, frosted trees, and a scenic river landscape offer endless opportunities for landscape photography.
Day 3 – Journey to Lentiira & Night Sky Photography

Continue your adventure towards Lentiira, where you’ll stay in the peaceful surroundings of Lentiira Holiday Village.
For the afternoon activity, we recommend a snowshoeing trip to Änättikoski – you may catch charming white-throated dippers diving into the icy waters.
When the sun goes down, you will see Lentiira’s night sky in it’s full glory. There is almost zero light pollution, so you have great chances to photograph the milky way or auroras. You have also a chance to do guided aurora tour with Taiga Spirit.
Day 4 – Wolverine Photography in the Wilderness

This day takes you deeper into the wilderness as you join Taiga Spirit on a snowshoeing tour to their wolverine hide. Wolverines are very active in early spring and, in the right conditions, can be photographed from just a short distance. Here too, you may get the chance to photograph the exciting courtship displays of capercaillie or black grouse if you arrive at the right moment!
Day 5 – Paltamo & Snow-Loaded Forests

Your adventure concludes in Paltamo’s stunning hill landscapes as you head to Arctic Giant.
Explore the area on snowshoes among heavily snow-laden trees – a true dream location for photographers. Winter sunsets paint the hillsides in shades of orange and violet, and from high above you can see far across the white wilderness.
