Hiking tours in two National parks and Nature reserve area

The eternal beauty of Hiidenportti
Hiidenportti can be found in the backwoods of Kainuu and presents a truly impressive landscape of gorges. Hiidenportti National Park also offers points of interest and stories for visitors interested in cultural history. Hiking through the national park offers you the chance to experience many different types of Finnish nature!

Teerisuo – Lososuo conservation area invites you to feel the Kainuu swamp, its smells, sounds, colors and sensations. The forests and swamps of the wilderness, a very significant landscape area, form an intact and balanced whole. The hiking trail that goes around the area sometimes leads to swamps, and sometimes to natural primary forest islands.

In the spring, nature also wakes up in the marsh, you can feel the heat of the summer concretely when you need a lacquer bath, in the autumn the beautiful colors of the marsh glow in different scales of green, red and yellow, in the winter the steady winds tempt you to go on a longer ski run. The area of Teerisuo – Lososuo has something for everyone with its natural neves and ravens.

The Tiilikkajärvi
The Tiilikkajärvi park’s lovely lakeshores include the beautiful beach of Venäjänhiekka (Russian Sands), whose name relates to the 1595 Treaty of Teusina which divided these lands between Sweden and Russia. An old border stone in Lake Tiilikkajärvi still bears a crown and a cross symbolising the two countries. A sandy esker ridge formation runs through the lake, adding to the varied natural scene. Slow down, relax, and enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake.Welcome to enjoy hiking in pure nature!

Raesärkkä Nature Reserve is a beautiful day trip destination in a hilly ridge landscape. The hiking trail through the area follows an old track and the bottom of a cycle track. Rest stops are located along the trail at short distances from each other. The terrain is easily accessible.

Suitability: For independent hikers who love nature. Even terrain but no accessible services.

6. Day 
Driving back to Nurmes
Hiking trip to Toivo tower. From Toivo tower we’ll have a scenery over the 4th biggest lake of Finland, Lake Pielinen). Trail 4 km.
Snack by the campfire in the village of Lipinlahti. On the way back, a visit to the Karelian hotel area of Bomba and a tsasouna, orthodox chapel.

A boat trip to an evening sauna in a Finnish cottage sauna.

7. Day

Price from: 1450€ /person/6 nights, 7 days.
