Those who believe, they can see elves scampering through the forest and perhaps go to visit the Santa Claus himself. This remote area Wild Taiga is situated close to the Russian borderline. Private Hotel Kalevala offers the whole family an authentic Christmas feeling – a landscape of snow, Finnish Christmas traditions and traditional Finnish Christmas cuisine.

Christmas land – with Santa and his elves, crosscountry skiing, blue eyed huskies and snowmobile safaris. The old Christmas traditions are still taken care of and appreciated in our Christmas program; fresh baked cookies, a promenade in the forest to find a Christmas tree. Where would it be better to spend this family festive season?

DAILY: breakfast, lunch, dinner, evening saunas with indoor and outdoor hot tubs

22.12. ARRIVAL DAY
Arrival to Kajaani/Kuopio airport. Elf transfer to Hotel Kalevala
Welcome drink & dinner at the restaurant.

23.12. FAIRY TALE STARTS
In the morning guidance on the program and additional features in Kuhmo.
After that, freely try out sleds and toboggans on the hill or kick sleds on the ice.
Possible visit in Kuhmo town: sightseeing, shopping, and having coffee.
Delivery for an additional charge.
Later in the afternoon visiting Santa Claus: children meet Santa Claus, the real Finnish Joulupukki, who always has time to listen your Christmas wishes and
secrets. Bake gingerbread, make Christmas decorations and meet elves on the way to find Santa. Tour duration approx 2,5 hours.

24.12. CHRISTMAS EVE
We’ll make a magical journey across the snowy landscape and bring the Christmas tree inside the hotel. It is big and important duty for children to
decorate the tree.
Traditional Christmas rice porridge and lunch
In the afternoon traditional visit at the church yard of Kuhmo, bus transfer.
Everyone can light a candle for their love ones far away.
In Finland Santa Claus comes traditionally on Christmas Eve (if wanted parents can give their own presents to the reception, 1 per child).
Christmas Eve with traditional Finnish Christmas buffet.

25.12. CHRISTMAS DAY
2 hour leisure snowshoe tour through the snowy wilderness, hot drinks and snacks by fire
Christmas Day dinner.
End the day with an unforgettable evening under the stars, enjoying a campfire picnic while hoping for a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

26.12. BOXING DAY
Dive into an adventurous day with thrilling rides: reindeer, husky, and horsedrawn sleighs
Experience the thrill of a snowmobile safari 2 h
You have time to explore optional activities like rapid swimming or crosscountry skiing. Later in the afternoon unwind in the traditional smoke sauna,
embracing true Finnish relaxation.

27.12. OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES DAY & FREE TIME
Day is your to spend at leisure, optional activities like husky trips, snowmobile trips, rapid swimming, cross-country skiing school, aurora trips, ice fishing or enjoying the snow covered nature with rental snowshoes or cross country skis. Farewell dinner at Santa’s residence

28.12. GOOD BYE FINLAND
Say goodbye to a week of unforgettable memories and depart with the spirit of Finnish Christmas in your heart.
Transfer back to Kajaani/Kuopio airport

• Also wellbeing treatments are available: worth trying is definitely our peat sauna and traditional Finnish bone setting. After these two try also herbal jacuzzi and classical massage.
