Tuupala museum was opened to public in June 1975. The interiors of the building exhibit the life in the house when it was occupied by the Kainulainen family, between 1880`s and 1960`s. Few buildings have had as many roles as Tuupala. The museum has been a hostelry; there have been several stores, a post office, a pharmacy, a dairy, the residence of the district police chief, a school for children belonging to the Orthodox Church, a library and the reception for a dentist and a welfare clinic.
